If you’re interested in contacting me, please give the list below a quick read over, and at the bottom of this page I’ve got a few requests to save us both time when contacting me so we can get down to the nuts and bolts of the conversation!
A Little About Me:
I’m a jovial, proactive, test & code, code & test, get things done well, software architect, engineer, coder, and distributed systems advocate. Some of the things I’ve enjoyed doing over the years.
- Coder (i.e. Engineer/Developer/Programmer): I write code, sometimes lots of code, sometimes a little code. No language is a limit, only another tool to implement solutions. I ply polyglot language paths including: C#, JavaScript, lately while learning some Go, while I’ve used Java, Erlang, Pascal, Basic, Visual Basic, C++, C, COBOL, RPG, CL and others in the past.
- Leader: I’ve built teams (hiring, practice, process, etc) from the ground up and lead them to success. Utilizing different approaches, practices, and technologies the teams I’ve led have all delivered great products and services! Contact me to learn more about hiring me and having me bring a whole team with me, as I am one of those leaders that know a crew of folks that would happily drop what they’re doing to come and work with me again!
- Founder (i.e. Literally a founder of a company): In the past I founded Deconstructed.io with Aaron Gray, Node PDX with Troy Howard, and .NET Fringe, Node PDX (Conference not meetup), and ML4ALL with a whole host of excellent people.
- Advocate: Every chance I get I work to share knowledge I’ve gained over the years. Yes, I regularly have opinions and I do like to share those! From workshops, presenting, to one on one mentoring, pair programming, course curriculum writing, build out, and directed (classroom) training.
- Research & Development: I love seeing technologies built and technologies come together. I routinely scour the internet, engage in conversations with leaders of thoughts, and thinkers of new things, as I like to contribute where I can and always love working on what’s next.

Organizing
Some of the conferences, meetups, and related work I’ve done include;
- .NET Fringe w/ Troy Howard (@thoward37), Glenn Block (@gblock), Byron Gerloch, and Alena Hall (@lenadroid).
- Node PDX
- ML4ALL
- Various user groups in Seattle & Portland over the years, however recent meetups I’m working with include groups like Seattle Scalability.
Read more about my work organizing, specifically on the page I’ve dedicated to keeping track of this work here.
NOTE: Just wanted to add that it’s been since 2020 (for the obvious reasons) since I’ve been involved with much organizing, but I still love being involved with the community and fully intend to get back out there and involved in the coming months. I’ll see you out there at the conferences, meetups, and get togethers sooner than later! 🎉
